Two to a Blanket, Feet to the Fire

From a bustling homosocial winter homestead in Eastern Ontario during the tail end of the 19th-century timber industry boom to a contemporary Queer Pagan community. This piece weaves material from the Archives of Ontario and the National Archives of Canada with footage of a May Day gathering of faeries who find platonic intimacy, kinship and jouissance on the same plot of land, centuries apart.

Video commission for Trinity Square Video (Toronto) part of CENTRE, third and final instalment of the series LEFT, RIGHT, CENTRE.
